Mastery Based Learning

During the distance-learning, many people have asked for extra opportunity to show their learning. Below you will find links to online assessments on various topics covered throughout the course.

The goal is to show your learning without aids. This isn't about the mark, it's about proving to yourself that you have improved your knowledge on a particular topic, heading to grade 11.

Good work to those of you who diligently took the time to learn the material and show your understanding using the Knowledge Hook assessments. It wasn't a perfect system, but it worked well enough.

Tues. May 19th – Sun. May 24th

This will be our first attempt at using Knowledge Hook for an assessment. It will remember where you are so that you can come back to it before submitting.

Do the questions on paper (neatly) because some questions require you to take a picture of your work.

Some questions are multiple choice while others require a numeric answer.

Mon. May 25th – Fri. May 29th

This assessment covers expanding (multiplying binomials) and factoring of all kinds. Please complete the assessment by Friday so that we can close off some items before the end of the year. As with the other assessments on this page, this one is optional and an opportunity to ensure you are ready for grade 11.

Mon. June 1st – Fri. June 5th

At this point, you've probably already logged-in to Knowledge Hook and done at least part of an assessment. If you still do not know how to use it, follow the links and instructions below and in my video.

This Knowledge Hook assessment is for students who missed (or did poorly on) the first Unit 5 assessment. Students who completed the original Unit 5 assessment do not need to do this one.
