Today is a Thursday. Thursday starts with T and so do tacos 🌮 and typing ⌨️. We will start class with typingclub.com

The Goal

• Discuss and learn the need for good organization

• Get to know the difference between a file and a folder

• Learn more about computer files and how they are stored

The Plan

In case you miss class - here is the presentation file for today 

• Briefly discuss the difference between a file 📄 and a folder 📂

• Discuss file extensions and file formats

• Learn what an Operating System is and why you should learn MS Windows and Linux

  • The cloud?  🌥️

• Discuss proper file organization skills (and why it's so important)

Your Task

• Log onto a computer and have a look at your GDrive root directory ("My Drive")

• How could you organize your files and folders so that it's easier to find your work?

  • Maybe start by grouping files for their purpose. Create folders for your courses or hobbies.

  • Rename assignments and important files (no more "Untitled presentation")

  • Delete files you know you'll never need again (less is more)

  • Remember - your organizational structure is your decision. Do what works for you.
