Grade 9's:  I've posted some links to EQAO and Exam materials. It's never too early to study!
I know that Unit 4 is missing from the website. Having some scheduling difficulties in getting that up. Should have that up by the new year... I think... maybe...

Gr. 9 - UNIT 3 TEST DATE (and more)

posted Nov 24, 2014, 6:11 AM by Matthew Brash   [ updated Nov 24, 2014, 6:12 AM ]

The Unit 3 Test has been moved to this Friday, November 28th.  This should accommodate any field trips and give students more time to prepare. We will complete a Unit 3 Review Assignment (due Tuesday, the 25th) and some other preparation assessments throughout the week. This should not only help prepare us but also allow for extra assessment opportunities.

Our test is coming up this Tuesday and I was asked via email to answer a couple questions. I decided to do them via YouTube - Khan Academy style, if you will.

Enjoy!

Look for the "We are here" arrow!

posted Sep 30, 2014, 1:39 PM by Matthew Brash   [ updated Oct 1, 2014, 4:54 AM ]

As we move through a unit, I was trying to figure out a way to let both parents and students know where we are on any given day. How do you know what you missed? Sure, I could tweet it - but not everyone uses Twitter. Sure, I could put an announcement on my site - but not everyone reads them (ok, you do - obviously).

Low and behold - the arrow!   We are here!  Look for this fancy arrow on a title in the current unit.
Like this:

Lesson 37 - The Meaning of Life    We are here!
Pretty cool, huh?

Time to start reviewing for your Trigonometry test and task. Remember, they will both be open-book but you are responsible for bringing a scientific calculator that you are familiar with. Our mini test will be this Wednesday, Sept. 24th and the mini task will be the following day - Thursday, Sept. 25th.

Gr. 9's Site Update

posted Sep 15, 2014, 5:10 AM by Matthew Brash   [ updated Sep 15, 2014, 5:10 AM ]

Looks like my website is slowly coming together. Grade 9's can find all their notes and schedules in the link at the top of the site [ Grade 9 (1D) ]. While I try my hardest to update the site as quickly as possible, it is important to pay attention in class.
Note - a course calendar is coming soon.

Welcome Back! (2014 - St. FX)

posted Sep 3, 2012, 12:07 PM by Matthew Brash   [ updated Sep 5, 2014, 5:52 AM ]

Well it looks like I'm back using Google Sites for my classes. Who knows, maybe I'll bounce back next year and use something else. Technology is always changing.

I've stepped into a new role, at a new school. It's exciting! I received a very warm welcome at St. Francis Xavier and I look forward to having some fun and learning some cool stuff! No wait, the students are supposed to learn - right? Well it goes both ways. Teachers should always be learning as well and I've got a lot to learn.

Here's hoping I can update this website in a timely manner! So much to do!!!
